Went out today with my buddy Jimmy. Took his boat and went Right to the Middle Grounds in time for the last two hrs of outgoing water.
Jimmy was "off" on his anchoring game today. Best he could do was "close enough" which was good enough. Limited out by slack water with fish between 5 to 7lbs. Bite dies off at slack with only small fish showing ay interest. We nosed around a few different pieces seeing an improving bite as the tide flooded. Back home at Mt Sinai by 2:30. Gorgeous bluebird shirtsleeve weather day,

Fishing up here has been getting better each time we go out. Doesn't matter, shallow or deep. Seems all the rockpiles are holding at least some fish, with plenty of decent (5 to 7lb) fish around. Except for one trip we have limited out every time. Water temps are in the mid 50's porgies are still around, but nor bothersome at all. Also seeing more bergalls and a lot more small blackfish than in the past few years.
