Great weekend of bass fishing off of Jones beach on the bunker pods. On Friday, my brother and I had at least 20 (we stopped counting) bass between 20-35+lb. We could have had more, dropped a bunch of fish too. All the fish caught on snag and letting them swim. The fish really turned on between 8-10am.
On Sat, went out with bro and a friend, same schools of bait and fish, we didn’t have as many fish, but we all got at least 2 fish each to the boat. One weighed in at 39.6 and one at 37. Both days we were by our selves the whole time! This really makes a difference in enjoying the fishing. Over at Scotty’s fishing station they were flipping out with all the reports and fish coming in.
Sunday, we went back out, fish were not where we had them the past 2 days. We winded up in front of Gilgo. There were a lot of boats and small pods. Saw some fish landed and boats hooked up, with not having any fish, crowded conditions on the pods, and some nasty weather coming we called it a day. That Friday was one of the best days on the pods I’ve ever experienced. Hope everyone enjoyed the Holiday and experienced some of this off the hook fishing!
