Fished on the Bunny Clark Sunday reg trip and today's extreme trip. Weather was good for fishing both days, light east wind, some rain, not too much current.

Yesterday fishing was o/k, I took the pool with a nice 22 pound cod.

Today was tough until around noon, then fishing was decent, 1/2 cod and 1/2 pollack, jigs were king both days.

On a side note, I probably hooked my biggest fish ever today, either a small giant or a huge medium BFT. Fish would not stop, first run peeled 300 yards of 65 power pro off my reel like it was nothing, we chased the fish once everyone got their lines up, I gained a little and the fish took it back, this went on for 1/2 an hour until the line parted at the dropper loop for my teaser. I have no idea how big the fish was, your guess is as good as mine. I learned 3 things here.

1) Maybe I should fish with just a jig in case I hook a smaller one.
2) I must tie one hell of an albright knot, that thing held tight under immense pressure
3) Ralph rodwinder makes one hell of a rod, think did what it was supposed to do, no stress cracks, no issues, was just outgunned, like trying to stop a tank with a rifle. Thanks Ralph.

Nice report Marc, there are going to be alot of busted anglers this year on the partyboats. The scout had a hookup the day before in the same area with the same results. I was on the scout yesterday and saw you guys in the distance from time to time. We did ok with the cod limit and some very nice haddock, only a few racer pollack.

anything over 100 is really tough on a cod rod. My guess is mine was as big as as my sofa...300 yards of line in under 2 minutes is impressive.
we are the people our parents warned us about!!!

Yes marc, its impressive. I have hooked the wrong tuna up three times with fights up to three hours on cod gear. At this stage I don't want anything to do with them unless its on a private boat witht he correct gear. Tired of being humbled and beaten.
