OCRF sank a 130 foot barge at Jackspot today 1/4/19..
Mussels and a variety of fast growing stationary animals will colonize swiftly. Next May it will have sea bass & through the spawning period into December when they move offshore. In 3 years tog will colonize it - maybe sooner.
In 10 years sea whips and star corals will have a good start. In 30 years it’ll be coraled-over nicely. Naming rights are available for this reef...
This is our 4th & largest Barge in the last 8 months. Maryland does not have a state marine reef building program.
We’re doing all we can on a low budget!

Great pics. I know there is a company in Florida where you can buy your own structure for them to sink. I always thought that was a cool concept
