Big full crabs in Navesinkr

Postby nickh » Tue Aug 28, 2018 11:26 pm

Did my annual crabbing trip with my mom and son out of oceanic marina, rumson this past Friday. Left the slip in our skiff at 7:45 and dropped in 6 pots(state allows 2 per resident for rec use. $2.00 donation to the state per license) to soak and then ran a 10 box trap string. Anchored up for 30 min. to entertain my mom and son. They boxed a dozen nice sized jimmies and then the tide slacked. We picked up and ran the string twice boxing 8 more. Up to 20. Reset in a different area for a pick of a few more. Checked the pots and boxed 20more big crabs. Anchored for another half hour for my mom and son to run their lines and picked a few more. Picked everything up at 12:45 and when the dust settles we had 60 big full crabs. Heavy rusty boys! Get out there if you can!

It is that time of the blue crab season and no doubt some of the best eating seafood around this region.
