Important breaking news in the fisheries and in the various forums.
I just heard the news from Richie M. and now see this posted by MEL DEAK of MELS-PLACE. Those who attended the 100th birthday party for Captain Mike Scarpati saw him and his wife this past year. Captain Mordaunt had an over half century fishing career working and running party boats in the NY BIGHT, and is always spoken of as a "gentlemen" both upon and off the water.
With deep sadness I must let you know that Captain Norman Mordaunt passed away peacefully early this morning, July 29, 2017. He was 77 years old. For over thirty years, Captain Norman operated many familiar party fishing boats at Belmar, NJ and at Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn. Further information will follow.
