Snapper Blitz

Postby Capt. Rick » Sun Aug 21, 2011 5:16 pm

My son in law showed up at the house with our grandaughter Delaney all of 4 years old an tells me
that she wants to fish. Say no more. Put aside my boat chores and break out some snapper gear.
I really wanted this kid to catch something. i happened to have a 4 gallon frozen bunker chum in the freezer. Put that puppy in a crate and hung it off the floating dock. With all that chum, the spearings were chowing down on the chum, we scooped up a bunch, put em in a pail and even fed the dog a cup full.Well as you may imagine, with all the chum and bait in the water in a short time, it was an all out snapper blitz. Delaney must have reeled in 15-20 snappers and by the end of the session was doing it all by herself and swinging them up on the dock like a pro. And just like the guys I fish with she was camera shy and it was all i could do to get her to hold up a couple. "Grandpa - I am not going to SMILE" !!! Too funny. Only problem is every time she visits now its gonna be grandpa do you want to go fishing and expect a slam  That is a good problem-I love it!!
