The owner of SALTYS (
http://www.saltybugger.com/) reached out to me early on in 2015 and sent the members of the Ward Melville High School Fishing Club a few dozen plug kits for us to build. The original plan was for us to have this contest at our fishing Expo on March 7th. The day got too crazy so we decided to put it off till now. The only thing left to do to these plugs are to epoxy coat a few of them, add split rings and then hooks. There are several plug kids not yet submitted but I can no longer wait. You may see additional plugs being added. Our website only allows us to run a week long poll, so each week the total will be kept and all previous entries will be reset automatically. On May 1, the winner will be announced and their pictures with winning plugs and prizes will be posted here.
I am asking that you please click on the link
http://wardmelvillefishingclub.com/contests/ to our website and vote for the "most likely to Catch" and "Most creative" plug designs. Winning kids will win prizes. The person with the most votes will have his/her choice of a rod/reel combo or a tackle box and assortment of lures. Anyway you look at it, the kids are all making out great.
I have pictures of each individual plug submitted on our website but here are some group shots of the kids work. Feel free to ask any questions you might like.
Once again, huge thanks to Salty's for their extreme, unsolicited generosity! The longer I run this club the more and more I see just how truly generous tho industry truly is!
