In following up on Mark Fishark and the whiting smoking, he elaborated that after smoking, their is a one hour cooling down period before refrigeration. Now cooled off and ready for going into the refrigerator, they are separated by layers of tinfoil, until they are ready to be vacuum sealed. It is a time consuming production, but the finished product is as good as you will find even at the premium food retailers...



In between Captain Jimmy and Captain James 'kids summer fishing trips, he also has his regular trips where another monster fluke was landed today. Look at the size of this doormat...

After a day away up at EASTMAN's Dock, just getting to some of the fish pics sent in....

What will be one of the more memorable fishing stories sent over to me from New Jersey just printed in the ASBURY PARK PRESS for the 2020 season happened in the Raritan Bay area as Captain Tom Buban had a true 'DD' summer flounder that weighted in at close to 12 lbs. It has been far from a banner year, to put it nicely for this area, but this fish will standout during a trying fluke fishing season....




Captain Jason Colby of LITTLE SISTER continues with the BO' biscuit fishing with Jim holding the standout fish on this trip...



Just a little heads up that was passed along to me about a surprising productive weakfish run in a particular area along the south shore of Long Island, and yes it is hard to just stop at just one weakfish going into the cooler...

This was from the other day on Captain Richie Jensen's - NANCY ANN, and it seems that we finally do have a decent run of bluefish around at this time in the summer...

Captain Jason Colby of LITTLE SISTER continues with the BO' fishing out of Westport. Just keep in mind that at this time in Massachusetts, BSB fishing is supposed to close on Sept. 8th, but the state has filed paperwork for an extension of the BSB fishing season. Nonetheless at this time of the year, you can catch these big biscuits in relatively shallow water....

I spoke with Captain Greg of the YANKEE CAPTS this morning as he was prepping for the next offshore and long range trip, but here is a video which should help fishermen further understand both the techniques and tackle for deep dropping in the GOMex.....

Thanks to Marc FISHARK at FISHARK ADVENTURES in sending over a picture of Captain Nate of the ANNE B holding his 6 pound 5 ounce King Whiting. In the second pic was a KW taken on the LADY MERRILEE with a 5 pound 7 ounce silver hake. Notice the size of the mouth and rubber gizmo on side of the mouth, and that diamond jigs are used when fishing in the deep for these XXL sized whiting...

Continuing with making panko style haddock, and even my wife said "this fish must have been really good as most of it was gone within a few minutes".....



The latest scientific style confirms what many of us are saying that the Menhaden stock is not only in one of it most abundant biomass state in years, plus that harvest leaves 99.5% of bunker in the water...

Take a look at this big shark cruising right on top of one of the Nantucket Lightship Box wrecks...



It was pretty interesting getting behind this vehicle while in the thick of it with northbound GSP traffic today. Trying to get ahead of the big storm....

As the fleet was tied hard to the dock this morning, time for a group picture. It just happened Captain Greg of the OCEAN EAGLE V was working on his boat, and Captain Robert Sapanara of the ex-BROOKLYN VI came by just a little later....



Thanks to Bob sending over another pic with his son Tom who really has XXL size rock fishing down to a science while fishing out of the Bay State, and as I was told he has not even had one slot limit fish so far in 2020....
